From: Jonah Jones To: Peter Loftus Sent: Thursday, April 15, 07:05 Subject: CONFIDENTIAL tithing concerns Peter, I’m writing to express my deep concerns over the tithing habits of individuals in our church. Does it not say in the Bible that we are to give 10% of our earnings to the Lord? (This is based on gross earnings and not the amount we are paid after tax, car repairs, shopping, money on the horses, lottery, etc). I’ve been passing around the collection box recently and have been keeping a close eye on Jonathan Skimpy for a few weeks now. This is the amount he has tithed in the past month: Sunday 31st: £1.74 Sunday 7th: NOTHING Sunday 14th: NOTHING Sunday 21st: £4.50 Sunday 28th: NOTHING Do you really think that a meagre £6.24 a month is enough of a contribution to our church? I say it’s an insult to God. Skimpy works as a production manager for crying out loud. I know for a FACT that he takes home at least £30k a year. That’s THIRTY THOUSAND POUNDS. Need I say more?
